Marble is a metamorphic rock that forms when limestone is subjected to heat and pressure over millions of years. This happens naturally in the earth’s crust. There is a huge variety of marble colours – the recognisable whites, greys and blacks but also bright blues, deep oranges, reds and vibrant greens, amongst others.

Our stone collections are more than just furniture, they are nature’s artefacts that tell the complex history of evolution. Carved by artisans, many of our stone pieces are accentuated by a leathered finish to truly communicate how captivating and unique all of these materials are.
From petrified wood to emerald onyx, our collection of stone has been carefully curated to be functional and reflective of nature’s beauty. Chris and Anna Weylandt travel to stone yards every year to find marbles and slates that speak to their designs. They discover rare materials like lava stone sourced from ancient volcanoes to create memorable pieces with a timeless stature.
About Our Stones
Marble
Granite
Sourced from quarries, granite formations are the result of the heating and cooling of the earth that has occurred over centuries. Granite is a versatile material that can withstand harsh conditions, making it the perfect stone for outdoor furniture and bold designs.
Petrified Wood
Over centuries and millennia, through years of erosion and volcanic eruptions, fallen forests become buried underground in layers of volcanic ash and stone. The result: A distinctive material that is informed by its surroundings, expressing the passing of time through hallmark wood grains, natural cracks, and a stone-like quality.
Slate
Slate offers both texture and incredible colouring – a mix of greys, tans, rusty browns, olive greens, and even specks of purple and cyan. Forged from natural minerals like quartz and calcite in extreme heat, slate is an extremely durable and solid surface that can withstand everyday wear-and-tear. Being less porous than granite or marble, slate is resistant to stains and etching.
Concrete
Concrete is composed of cement mixed with sand and water that hardens with time. Its strength and durability suits the outdoors as it can withstand harsh weathering. Due to the hand-cast nature of our concrete pieces, allowance should be made for the imperfections or variance of colour and texture from one product to the next – nothing is mass produced.
Lava Stone
A unique material formed over time from the lava of active volcanoes, this stone is a feat in furniture design. Typically used for architectural purposes, Chris and Anna Weylandt saw the potential of using this medium in furniture. Lava stone also develops a unique patina over time, ageing as it would in its natural environment.
