Weylandts joined Cape Town Furniture Week 2024 for an in-depth dive into local production and the importance of quality, design and craftsmanship in our processes.
A Successful Collaboration
The CTFW24 event series kicked off with a vibrant opening night on Wednesday, February 14, at the Green Point store, welcoming guests until 20:00 to experience a curated in-store installation. The evening was an immersive experience of the Weylandts world and philosophy, highlighting our unique approach to authentic living, all while supporting the local economy and artisans.
15 February: Panel Discussion
A look at Local production
Attendees had the rare opportunity to experience an insightful panel discussion at our Green Point store location. The panel included Chris Weylandt (Weylandts), Tracy Lee-Lynch (Clout/SA), and Steve Fish (Tétris), with moderation by Gareth Pearson (CTFW). Chris shared insights into the production philosophy driving the brand forward, emphasizing the importance of local craftsmanship and the soulful African design behind each item.
16 February: Weylandts Factory Tour
An appreciation for craft
The highlight of the week was the exclusive factory tour led by Chris and Anna Weylandt. This tour offered a behind-the-scenes look at the innovative technologies and skilled craftsmanship that contribute to the production of our iconic furniture. Participants gained first-hand experience into understanding the brand's dedication to enhancing South Africa’s economy and workforce.
