Slate features unique textures and incredible colouring – a mixture of grey, tan, rusty brown, olive green and even specks of purple and cyan. Forged from natural minerals like quartz and calcite in extreme heat, slate is extremely durable and can withstand wear and tear. Being less porous than granite or marble, it's resistant to stains and etching. 

Variations in the natural veining and colouration make each piece of slate unique. No two items are exactly alike.

• Dust frequently with a clean, soft cloth.
• Do not rub, scratch of scour.
• Always use coasters on slate tabletops.
• Protect from acidic substances such as wine, coffee and fruit juice. Wipe off liquids immediately and rinse with a clean, damp cloth.
• Use a cleaning product specifically made to wash natural stone or any other neutral cleaning agent (pH value -7). It must not contain lemon or vinegar.
